Bodrum, Turkey, August 25, 2026 — A Nepali woman working in Turkey who recently shared an emotional video describing alleged exploitation and difficult living conditions is preparing to return to Nepal, according to a lawmaker.
Sushila Bhusal, a permanent resident of Arghakhanchi, said in a 13-minute TikTok video that she travelled to Turkey seeking employment but was allegedly misled about the nature of the work she would be required to perform.
According to her account, the manpower agency that facilitated her travel did not provide adequate assistance after she sought help. She alleged that she was pressured to work at a spa and engage in sexual activities against her wishes.
Bhusal also described what she said were extremely poor living conditions, including having to sleep inside a container. Her video detailed the difficulties she said she experienced after leaving Nepal with the expectation of securing legitimate employment.
Rastriya Swatantra Party lawmaker Hari Prasad Bhusal, who represents Arghakhanchi, said she is preparing to return to Nepal soon. He said coordination is being carried out with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the relevant Nepali diplomatic mission to facilitate her return.
