Bengaluru, India, August 19, 2026 — Nepal’s Shusmita Thapa Magar has made a winning start to her professional mixed martial arts career, defeating India’s Shalu Sharma by unanimous decision at Ronin Fighting Championship-3 in Bengaluru on Saturday night.
Magar secured the victory in the co-main event after controlling all three five-minute rounds. The result adds another discipline to her growing combat sports record, having already established herself in professional Muay Thai and kickboxing.
The Nepali fighter entered the bout with an unbeaten 7-0 professional Muay Thai record and a 2-2 professional kickboxing record. She had previously competed at Ronin Fighting Championship-2, where she defeated India’s Aarti Khatri by unanimous decision in a kickboxing bout.
Against Sharma, Magar appeared comfortable throughout the contest despite her opponent having an advantage in grappling. Rather than allowing Sharma’s ground game to dictate the fight, Magar adapted and used her opponent’s grappling exchanges to create opportunities of her own.
Magar maintained the upper hand across all three rounds. Her strongest period came in the second round, when she kept Sharma on the mat for much of the round and repeatedly attacked with elbows.
