Kathmandu, October 3, 2026 — NIC Asia Bank has announced that it will become the first bank in Nepal to enable merchants using its e-commerce payment gateway to accept payments through Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Through the bank’s CyberSource Payment Gateway, merchants will be able to receive payments from international customers using Visa and Mastercard cards through Apple Pay and Google Pay. The service will allow customers to make payments using their mobile devices without directly using their physical cards.
According to the bank, the service will benefit businesses including hotels, travel and trekking companies, handicraft businesses, airlines, e-commerce companies and IT firms that receive payments from international customers.
The bank expects the new payment facility to support Nepal’s tourism and digital payment ecosystem while helping businesses expand their international customer base.
The bank said the new payment option will make payments simpler and more secure for international customers and provide a more convenient payment experience in Nepal.
