Kathmandu, September 28, 2026 — Police have arrested an Indian national at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu with 422.5 grams of yellow metal resembling gold.
Aslam Shaukat, around 46, a resident of Delhi, India, had arrived in Kathmandu on an IndiGo flight from Mumbai when police detained him after noticing his unusual movements inside the airport premises.
Police conducted a search after becoming suspicious and found the gold-like yellow substance concealed inside his underwear and wrapped in plastic.
Shaukat was taken into custody along with the substance and handed over to the Gaushala Police Circle for further investigation and necessary legal action.
