Kathmandu, September 15, 2026 — Police have arrested four people for allegedly storing and distributing electronic cigarettes, commonly known as vapes, illegally in Kathmandu.
Those arrested have been identified as 45-year-old Purnalal Shrestha of Dhading, currently residing in Chabahil, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-7; 27-year-old Shubham Gupta of Satungal, Chandragiri Municipality-16; 19-year-old Rajan Moktan of Ramechhap, currently residing in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-3; and 19-year-old Saksham Shrestha of Kavrepalanchok, currently residing in Chyasal, Lalitpur.
According to police, the arrests followed information that electronic cigarettes were being illegally stored and sold in different areas of Kathmandu Valley.
A team deployed from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku, conducted searches at two warehouses and recovered 2,770 electronic cigarettes. The products were seized from the warehouse of RHS International Pvt. Ltd. in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-22 and the warehouse of Resha Collection in Chuchepati, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-6.
Police arrested the four individuals in connection with the recovered vapes.
