Kathmandu, August 31, 2026 — Police have arrested three men in Kirtipur, Kathmandu, on allegations of harassing women walking along the road and using obscene language.
Those arrested have been identified as 22-year-old Satyaraj Khatri of Kedarasyun Rural Municipality, Bajhang, who is currently residing in Kirtipur; 22-year-old Lalit Damai of Kanchanpur; and 21-year-old Ashok Bhandari of Krishnapur-3, Kanchanpur, who is also residing in Kirtipur.
According to police, the incident occurred on the evening of August 28 in the Bhangal area of Kirtipur. The three allegedly followed women who were walking along the road, asked them for their phone numbers and directed obscene language at them.
Police said the men were travelling on a motorcycle bearing registration number Sudurpaschim Province-004 Pa 878 at the time of the incident.
The incident came to police attention after the women who were allegedly harassed recorded the men’s activities on video and posted the footage on social media. Police subsequently launched an investigation based on the video.
