Bara, September 19, 2026 — A 35-year-old local man, Sher Bahadur Khadka, was killed in a knife attack at a hotel in Simara of Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City-2, Bara, on Saturday evening.
The incident occurred at around 5 pm at Samjhana Staff Hotel on the Main Road, where Khadka was attacked with a knife.
Police said Khadka sustained a serious injury to his neck in the attack. He was taken to Birgunj for treatment but was declared dead by doctors at the hospital.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Dayakrishna Bhatt of the Area Police Office, Simara, said an investigation into the incident was underway. He said those involved in the incident had fled.
According to the police, a preliminary investigation found that the knife kept in the hotel kitchen was used to attack Khadka after a dispute broke out among a group who had come to the hotel to eat snacks.
