Bara, October 8, 2026 — A 47-year-old woman died after her 55-year-old husband allegedly assaulted her during a domestic dispute in Nijgadh Municipality-12, Ramtali, Bara.
According to police, Vijay Moktan allegedly assaulted his wife, Sukumaya Moktan, during a domestic dispute.
Sukumaya, who sustained minor injuries in the assault on Wednesday evening, was examined and treated at home after a doctor was called from a local medical facility. However, when family members tried to wake her at around 4 a.m. on Thursday, she did not respond.
The incident was reported to the Temporary Police Post Ratanpur at 6:40 a.m.
Police completed the required legal procedures and sent the body to the Provincial Hospital, Bara, for postmortem examination.
