Kathmandu, October 2, 2026 — Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Anushka Shrestha has drawn the government’s attention to the growing problem of serious crimes against girls and violence against women.
Speaking during Friday’s meeting of the House of Representatives, Shrestha questioned the progress of issues concerning serious crimes against girls that had previously been raised in Parliament and the steps the government was expected to take in response.
Shrestha expressed appreciation for the government’s prompt response when the issue of the rape of a three-year-old girl was previously raised in Parliament.
Acknowledging that the government has many responsibilities, she said she was confident that the issue had not disappeared from its priorities.
“I am confident that this issue has not disappeared from our priorities. I want to know what work is being done on the report that was said to have been prepared on this matter,” she said.
