Kathmandu, September 28, 2026 — The faction led by former Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba has appointed coordinators in five districts of Madhesh Province to organize a parallel 15th general convention.
The faction has already appointed coordinators in 55 other districts across the country.
Former Nepali Congress General Secretary Shashank Koirala has been designated as the convention organizer for the faction. Under his signature, Surendra Yadav was appointed coordinator in Saptari, Santosh Kumar Chaudhary in Siraha, Komal Kanta Jha in Dhanusha, Rajesh Ray Yadav in Bara, and Bijay Karna in Parsa.
The faction’s contact office confirmed that appointment letters have been issued to the respective individuals.
The faction has also announced its schedule for the 15th general convention. According to the schedule, ward-level conventions will begin on October 1, while the main convention is scheduled to take place from December 7 to December 9.
