Rasuwa, August 27, 2026 — A total of 336 people affected by the devastating Bhotekoshi River flood in Rasuwa have been airlifted to safety, according to the Nepali Army.
Nepali Army spokesperson Rajaram Basnet said rescue teams are continuing efforts to locate and rescue injured and stranded people, provide emergency medical treatment and distribute relief supplies in the flood-affected areas.
The Nepali Army has mobilized around 4,000 personnel for search, rescue and relief operations following the disaster.
Among those airlifted on Thursday morning were 45 foreign nationals from six countries. They were evacuated from Timure, Dhunche and Mailung areas of Rasuwa.
The air evacuation is part of the ongoing rescue operation in areas where roads and other transport links have been severely damaged by the flood, making access difficult for rescue teams.
