Nuwakot, September 6, 2026 — The Nepali Army has intensified the construction of a 60-metre Acrow bridge over the Tadi River at Devighat in Bidur Municipality-5, Nuwakot, after flooding damaged bridges and road infrastructure in the area and disrupted transportation.
The flood, which occurred on August 26, swept away or damaged most bridges along the Trishuli River, affecting transportation and movement across several areas of Nuwakot.
The Nepali Army’s engineering unit is constructing the temporary bridge at Devighat to restore access after flood damage to the bridge and road infrastructure in the affected area.
The Acrow bridge is 60 metres long, 5.5 metres wide and has a load-bearing capacity of 50 tonnes.
The Army has accelerated construction to restore transportation and make travel easier for residents of Devighat and nearby settlements.
