Myagdi, October 2, 2026 — The Relekhola Hydropower Project in Annapurna Rural Municipality-4, Narchyang, Myagdi, has stopped generating electricity after floodwaters entered its dam.
The 6-megawatt project was forced to shut down completely after floods damaged the dam located at the base of Relekhola.
According to project chief Darshan Kafle, power generation has been completely halted following damage to the dam caused by rain and floods between September 24 and 27.
The project is located in a geographically remote and isolated area, while landslides have blocked access roads, making it difficult to divert water and resume operations.
The project was completed last year and connected to the national grid through the 220 kV Dana substation.
