New Delhi, India, September 18, 2026 — Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle is scheduled to participate in diplomatic and bilateral engagements on Friday, the second day of his three-day official visit to India. His programme includes a high-level diplomatic dialogue, a meeting with Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and discussions on Nepal-India economic cooperation.
Wagle travelled to India on Thursday at the invitation of the Indian government and held bilateral talks with his Indian counterpart, Nirmala Sitharaman, later that day. The two sides discussed development cooperation, post-flood reconstruction, trade, investment, energy and connectivity.
At 9 am on Friday, Wagle is scheduled to attend a high-level diplomatic dialogue at the India International Centre hosted by former Indian foreign secretary Shyam Saran. He will address the gathering as the chief guest. The dialogue is expected to bring together senior Indian diplomats for discussions on regional and global issues.
Wagle will meet Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar at 5 pm. The meeting is expected to cover bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest.
Later in the day, Wagle will attend a gathering hosted by Jawed Ashraf, chairman of the India Trade Promotion Organisation, at Bharat Mandapam. The programme will include discussions on various aspects of economic cooperation between Nepal and India.
