Kathmandu, September 19, 2026 — Pakistani Ambassador to Nepal Mohammad Aamir Khan paid a courtesy call on Minister for Agriculture, Forests and Environment Gita Chaudhary to discuss strengthening bilateral ties and expanding practical cooperation between Nepal and Pakistan.
The meeting focused on cooperation in climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, early warning systems, glacier monitoring, agricultural development and post-disaster reconstruction.
Ambassador Khan expressed Pakistan’s readiness to share expertise, climate-resilient technologies and disaster management data with Nepal, particularly following recent natural disasters.
The two sides agreed to coordinate through regional and international forums to promote the common climate interests of mountainous nations. They also highlighted the role of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) in prioritizing these issues.
Minister Chaudhary emphasized the need for mutual data and technology exchanges to address shared environmental challenges and expressed Nepal’s interest in expanding agricultural cooperation with Pakistan.
