Kathmandu, August 18, 2026 — Ncell and Cimex Inc., the authorised distributor of BYD vehicles in Nepal, have partnered to introduce connected vehicle services by installing Ncell’s Internet of Things (IoT) SIM in BYD vehicles sold in the country.
Under the agreement, every new BYD vehicle will be equipped with an Ncell IoT SIM, allowing customers to access online services and digital entertainment directly through the vehicle’s system without requiring additional hardware, a Wi-Fi hotspot or a connected mobile phone.
The connected system will support infotainment services including YouTube, Spotify and Karaoke, along with access to the BYD application ecosystem directly from the vehicle.
Upaang Datta, chief consumer business officer at Ncell, said the partnership would bring connectivity, infotainment, security and intelligent mobility features to BYD vehicles through IoT technology.
According to Datta, direct connectivity between the vehicle and the BYD application, as well as popular infotainment platforms, will reduce the need for external hotspots or mobile data connections from users’ phones. He also said connection to the local mobile network would support reliable navigation while travelling, including during traffic congestion.
