Udayapur, September 20, 2026 — A 45-year-old woman died after allegedly being struck on the neck with a sickle during a domestic dispute in Dandagaun, Chaudandigadhi Municipality-2, Udayapur.
Police identified the deceased as Bimala Rai. Her husband, 58-year-old Gandu Ram Rai, has been detained in connection with the incident.
According to police, Gandu Ram allegedly attacked Bimala with a sickle during a dispute after consuming alcohol. She sustained a serious injury to her neck and was taken to the municipal hospital in Beltar for treatment.
Police said Bimala died at the hospital at around 1:15 am.
Following the incident, Gandu Ram went to the Madibas Police Post and informed police about what had happened. Police subsequently detained him and took him to the Area Police Office in Beltar for further investigation.
