Kathmandu, September 8, 2026 — Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Bhishmaraj Angdembe has called on the government to immediately make public and implement the recommendations of the National Human Rights Commission regarding the events surrounding the Gen Z protests.
Issuing a statement on Tuesday to mark the first anniversary of the Gen Z movement, Angdembe said the commission had recommended action against all those involved in inciting violence during peaceful demonstrations, infiltrating the protests, using excessive force on September 9 and causing destruction on September 10.
“The government must immediately make the National Human Rights Commission report public and fully implement its recommendations,” Angdembe said. “Regardless of who is involved, there must be an impartial investigation and legal action.”
He said no individual should receive immunity because of political protection or the influence of those in power.
According to Angdembe, both those who misused state power and those who took the law into their own hands and pushed the country towards destruction should be held accountable.
