Crusher operator’s son dies after being buried when tipper overturns in Dhanusha

Dhanusha, October 1, 2026 — A 36-year-old man died after being buried when a tipper truck overturned while unloading sand and gravel at a crusher industry in Dhanusha on Thursday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Hari Mahato, son of Ram Sagar Mahato, operator of Aurahi Baba Sand Processing Industry in Lalbhitti, Mithila Municipality-3.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Khanal, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Dhanusha, the tipper with registration number Province 2-02-001 Kha 0171 overturned at around 7:20 a.m. while unloading sand and gravel at the industry.

Mahato was rescued immediately with the help of a JCB at the premises and taken to Janaki Medical College in Ramdaiya after sustaining serious injuries. Police said he died during treatment at around 10:20 a.m.

Tipper driver Hari B.B.K., around 30, of Godar in Ganeshman Charnath Municipality-6, was also injured in the accident.

DSP Khanal said the driver sustained an injury to his leg and his condition was normal.

The District Police Office, Dhanusha, said further investigation into the incident is underway.
