Gorkha, October 11, 2026 — A flood in the Budhigandaki River has swept away a construction camp and some construction equipment belonging to the Budhigandaki Hydropower Project in Sallery, Chumanubri Rural Municipality-3, Gorkha district.
The extent of damage to other structures associated with the project has yet to be determined.
The Budhigandaki Hydropower Project is a 341-megawatt semi-reservoir-type hydropower project. The estimated total construction cost is Rs 70 billion.
