Gaidakot, September 12, 2026 — Eighteen people were injured after two buses travelling in the same direction collided on the East-West Highway at Harkapur in Gaidakot Municipality-12.
The accident occurred at around 6:50 am on Saturday. According to the preliminary details, a bus with registration number Lu 2 Kha 6457 was travelling from Narayangadh toward Butwal when another bus, Lu 2 Kha 6036, travelling in the same direction hit it from behind.
Two passengers travelling on the Lu 2 Kha 6457 bus were injured. They have been identified as 36-year-old Dhanman Hamal of Tilagufa Municipality-3, Kalikot, and 60-year-old Leela Thapa of Gaidakot Municipality-5, Nawalparasi East. Both are receiving treatment at the Old Chitwan Medical College.
The remaining 16 injured people were travelling on the Lu 2 Kha 6036 bus. Among them is the 47-year-old driver, Santosh Bahadur Gurung of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-4, Chitwan.
Seven injured passengers from the second bus are receiving treatment at the New Chitwan Medical College. They are 12-year-old Atriya Paudel of Gaidakot-7; 40-year-old Madhava Gyawali of Gaidakot-15; 35-year-old Shankar Bayalkoti of Gorkha; 38-year-old Sita Gyawali of Gaidakot-2; 11-year-old Jaswin Gyawali of the same locality; 10-year-old Divya Ranabhat of Ratnanagar Municipality-2, Chitwan; and driver Gurung.
