Gold price rises Rs 2,800 to Rs 319,500 per tola

The price of gold in Nepal’s domestic market increased by Rs 15,100 per tola over the past week, driven by a sharp rise in international bullion prices. According to data from the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA), the price of fine gold rose from Rs 301,600 per tola at the end of the previous week to Rs 316,700 per tola by Friday.

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declined 25.11 points, or 0.95 percent, last week as the secondary market ended lower despite a rise in average daily trading turnover. The secondary market opened the week at 2,643.83 points and closed at 2,618.72 points. During the week, the index climbed to a high of 2,648.57 points and dropped to a low of 2,608.38 points, resulting in a fluctuation of 40.19 points.

Nepal’s stock market declined on Friday, with the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index falling 10.67 points to close at 2,618.72. The Sensitive Index dropped 1.54 points, while the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index declined by 0.61 points and 0.38 points, respectively. Trading activity also weakened compared with Thursday. A total of 344 stocks were traded through 59,805 transactions, with shares worth Rs 4.16 billion changing hands. Thursday’s turnover stood at Rs 4.40 billion, representing a decline of around Rs 24 crore.
