Kathmandu, October 15, 2026 — WhatsApp is testing a message scheduling feature that allows users to send messages at a selected date and time, with the option now reportedly available to a limited number of Android users enrolled in the app’s beta program through the Google Play Store.
The feature supports both individual and group chats. Scheduled messages are sent at the chosen time even if the sender’s device is offline.
Users can currently schedule text messages, links, photos and videos, although each scheduled message can contain only one image or video. Like other WhatsApp messages, scheduled messages are protected by end-to-end encryption.
To schedule a message, users can tap and hold the send button in a chat to open the scheduling interface. Messages can be scheduled for delivery as early as 10 minutes ahead or up to two weeks in advance.
Scheduled messages appear in a dedicated section of the chat information screen, where users can view, manage or delete them before they are sent. Recipients are not notified that a message was scheduled or that it was deleted before delivery.
