California, USA, September 10, 2026 — Apple has unveiled its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, introducing a major new form factor to its flagship product line as the company moves into a market already established by Samsung and other smartphone manufacturers.
The iPhone Duo unfolds to reveal a 7.6-inch internal display, the largest screen ever offered on an iPhone. When folded, the device can be used through a 5.4-inch external display.
Apple says the Duo has been designed to improve on existing foldable phones, with a stronger construction and a reduced crease at the center of the internal screen. The company has also redesigned its software interface to make better use of the larger display and allow the two screens to work more seamlessly as users switch between folded and unfolded modes.
The device sits at the top of Apple's iPhone lineup and starts at $1,999, or approximately Rs 304,808, for the 256GB model. The highest-capacity version with 2TB of storage costs $3,199, equivalent to approximately Rs 487,784.
Preorders for the iPhone Duo will begin on October 16 in more than 70 countries and regions, with general availability scheduled for October 23.
