Texas, USA, October 16, 2026 — Tesla has unveiled an updated version of its next-generation Roadster, featuring a redesigned exterior, extremely rapid acceleration and cold-gas thrusters that the company says can propel the electric sports car into the air.
First introduced in November 2017, the next-generation Roadster was initially scheduled to enter production in 2020. Following several delays, Tesla is now targeting 2028, although the company has not confirmed a final production date.
The updated Roadster reflects Tesla’s latest design language, drawing inspiration from the Cybertruck, Cybercab and Optimus robot. Tesla has also cited the SR-71 aircraft and F-35 fighter jet as design influences.
The exterior features concealed headlights, a full-width rear taillight and streamlined aerodynamic surfaces. The displayed model also has an “Ano White” finish inspired by protective coatings used on rockets.
Inside, the car features a steering yoke, a central touchscreen and two smaller driver displays. Lightweight materials, including magnesium, titanium and carbon fiber, are also used in its construction.
