Aichi, Japan, September 23, 2026 — Nepali boxer Khagendra Roka Magar opened his campaign at the 20th Asian Games with a 5–0 unanimous points victory over Macau’s Elvan John Reyes Salinas on Wednesday.
The bout was held at Nishio Gymnasium in Nishio City, Aichi Prefecture, the designated boxing venue for the Games.
Roka Magar’s victory marked Nepal’s first win in boxing at the Games after Chandra Bahadur Thapa and Ramisha Shrestha were eliminated in their opening bouts.
The win also sent Roka Magar into the men’s 60 kg round of 16. He is scheduled to compete again on Friday.
Rabin Nepal, Asmita Duwal and Kusum Tamang are among the Nepali boxers scheduled to compete next.
