Kathmandu, October 8, 2026 — The Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs National Federation has urged all concerned transport operators not to charge passengers fares higher than the rates fixed by the government during the festival season.
Federation General Secretary Dek Nath Gautam said vehicles charging fares above the government-fixed rates would face action.
The government has decided to open advance ticket bookings for passenger vehicles across the country from Asoj 23 (October 9, 2026) for this year’s Dashain festival.
The decision to open advance ticket bookings was taken among the Department of Transport Management, the Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs National Federation, workers’ unions and organizations, Nepal Police Headquarters and the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office to make passenger and freight transport services easier, organized and safer.
The federation has instructed its seven provincial committees, district committees, member associations and organizations, as well as branch chiefs and employees working at Gongabu Bus Park in Kathmandu, to make necessary arrangements.
