Kathmandu, October 6, 2026 — The central committee meeting of the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, October 7, marking the party’s first central committee meeting since the merger of the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party led by Mahantha Thakur and the Janata Samajbadi Party led by Upendra Yadav.
Following the merger, JSP Nepal announced a 279-member central working committee on August 15. The central committee meeting will run from October 7 to October 9.
The party’s central executive committee held a meeting on Tuesday to prepare for the session. According to General Secretary Dr. Surendra Jha, the executive committee discussed the agenda to be presented at the central committee meeting.
The central committee will receive and deliberate on political and organizational reports. According to JSP Nepal, the reports will be discussed collectively before being passed.
The meeting will also discuss the integration of party structures at the provincial, district and local levels, along with the status of sister organizations that have yet to be aligned following the merger.
