Kathmandu, August 20, 2026 — Nepal’s stock market rebounded on Thursday after falling for four consecutive trading sessions, with the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index gaining 7.17 points to close at 2,629.40.
The market’s recovery was supported by gains in the Commercial Banking, Hydropower, Finance, Investment, Life Insurance, Manufacturing and Processing, and Other sub-indices.
Share prices of 132 companies increased during Thursday’s session, while 132 declined and 13 remained unchanged.
Mountain Everest Power and Sarbottam Paints recorded gains of up to the positive circuit limit.
Trading activity also strengthened alongside the rise in the benchmark index. Shares worth Rs 4.40 billion changed hands on Thursday, compared with Rs 3.29 billion on Wednesday.
