Kathmandu, September 15, 2026 — Nepal’s stock market surged on Tuesday, with the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) climbing 48.57 points as investor activity strengthened following the government’s announcement of a 21-point plan to revive and strengthen the capital market.
The NEPSE index closed at 2,633.62, up from the previous session. All sub-indices recorded gains during the day.
The non-life insurance sub-index posted the largest increase, rising 2.85 percent. The life insurance sub-index gained 2.60 percent, while the investment sub-index advanced 2.52 percent.
Share prices of 265 companies increased on Tuesday, while 12 companies declined. Dhaulagiri Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha reached the positive circuit limit.
Trading activity also surged, with shares worth Rs 8.29 billion changing hands. This marked a significant increase from recent sessions, when daily turnover had remained below Rs 4 billion.
