Kathmandu, October 1, 2026 — Electricity supply will be interrupted at various locations across the Kathmandu Valley for 12 days from today as the Nepal Electricity Authority carries out technical work to bring underground power distribution systems into operation.
According to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), power supply will be cut in selected areas under the Kuleshwor, Baneshwor, Jorpati and Kirtipur distribution centres from October 1 to 12. The scheduled interruptions will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the affected areas.
The NEA said the planned outages will not be carried out if weather conditions become unfavourable.
According to the authority, power supply will be interrupted in Satungal–Bauthali on October 1, Machhegaun–Dobhan Chowk and Khusi Chowk on October 2, Mulpani on October 3, Gurjudhara on October 4 and Mulpani again on October 6.
Similarly, outages are scheduled for Balambu on October 7, Koteshwor–Balkumari on October 8, Sifal on October 10, Satungal–Dhaulagiri Housing Area on October 11 and Dhobikhola on October 12.
