Kathmandu, September 13, 2026 — Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Ashok Raj Sigdel departed for Beijing on Sunday for a seven-day official visit to the People’s Republic of China.
The visit will take place from September 13 to 19 at the official invitation of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.
During his visit, General Sigdel is scheduled to attend the Beijing Xiangshan Forum, a major international security and defence conference, and participate in high-level defence engagements.
He is also expected to hold bilateral discussions with Chinese counterparts focusing on strengthening military cooperation and further developing defence ties between Nepal and China.
The visit is aimed at advancing bilateral military relations and providing an opportunity for discussions on matters of mutual interest in the defence and security sectors.
