Kathmandu, October 3, 2026 — Gold prices in Nepal fell by Rs 3,800 per tola over the past week, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA).
The price of gold declined to Rs 294,800 per tola from Rs 298,600 at the close of the previous week.
Gold prices increased on three days during the week, with the largest rise of Rs 2,800 recorded on Wednesday. The biggest decline was recorded on Sunday, when the price fell by Rs 5,000 per tola.
According to Reuters, gold prices declined in the international market last week as the yield on 10-year US Treasury bonds rose to its highest level since 2002. The yield serves as a benchmark for global borrowing costs and asset prices.
“For non-yielding assets, all else equal, that is going to be challenging because gold has to compete against that yield level in people's portfolios,” Reuters reported.
