Bajhang, September 18, 2026 — Police have arrested a woman in Bajhang after a video showing a dog being thrown into the Seti River from a bridge went viral on social media.
The arrested woman has been identified as 42-year-old Bimala Devi Rokaya of Pades in Jaya Prithvi Municipality-3, according to Police Inspector Dipak Bista of the District Police Office, Bajhang.
Bista said Rokaya was arrested from her residence on Thursday afternoon. She has been taken into custody for further investigation, police said.
The video circulating on social media shows a woman allegedly throwing a dog into the Seti River from Pankot Bridge in Chainpur, Jaya Prithvi Municipality-10.
Police are investigating the incident following the circulation of the video.
