Baglung, October 5, 2026 — Two workers were killed after a mound of earth collapsed on them while a JCB was being used to excavate a road in Bohragaun, Nisikhola Rural Municipality-3.
According to District Police Office Chief Phadindra Prasai, the incident occurred along the inner road connecting Jhivakhola and Bohragaun. Three workers were buried when the earth suddenly collapsed during road upgrading work using a JCB bearing registration number Lu 1 Ka 3446.
The JCB was being operated by driver Bhadra Malla.
The deceased have been identified as 25-year-old Lal Bahadur Budhathoki of Salyan and Raju Thapa Magar of Udayapur. Both died at the scene.
The third worker, Krishna Bahadur Gharti of Rolpa, was rescued in critical condition and taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
